Music 9
Here is a list of every assignment in Grade 9 music in case you missed one and need to catch up!
1. Music Show and Tell Presentation - Pick a song that you like or is important to you. Write 3-5 sentences about the music and the context of the song. (Context can be the lyrics meaning or when you listen to the song or how it makes you feel.)
2. Listening Log 1 - "Empire State of Mind" Here is the worksheet.
3. Art Listening 1 - "Where is the Love?" Listen to the song and draw a picture representing the images in the song or how it makes you feel.
4. Film Music Project - Watch "Eight Below" and fill out the assignment sheet. You fill out a log everytime you hear music change in the movie. You don't have to fill one out for all background music, but significant changes should be logged. Use your judgement! :)Here is an assignment sheet and here are instructions.
5. Sound of Music. The students watched the Sound of Music and completed an assignment. Late/missing assignments can be emailed to amywilson@nlesd.ca.
*Please note that the students were also assessed in their instrument studies unit which was split into two marks: participation and a test. If they missed their test, they are responsible for arranging a make up time.
